A workspace is the top-level project context you open in Fabriqa.

What a workspace contains

  • the repository or folder you want to work on
  • chats tied to that project
  • workspace-scoped panels like Terminal, Reader, Git Changes, and Workspace Settings
  • workspace-specific preferences such as task file overrides and tool rules

Open a workspace

  1. Start from the welcome flow or use Open Workspace.
  2. Choose the repository or folder you want to work in.
  3. Let Fabriqa load the workspace sidebar, chat area, and panel layout.

What you should see next

Once the workspace opens, Fabriqa typically gives you:
  • the sidebar with chats and workspace navigation
  • the main area for chats and docked panels
  • the input area where you choose a provider and send prompts

Before creating your first chat

Check two things:
  1. Your provider is available.
  2. You know whether you want a main session or a worktree session.
If you are unsure, start with a main session. Move to worktree sessions when you want isolation.
