- access to the local repository or folder you want to work on
- any agent providers you plan to use installed or signed in on that machine
- any LLM provider credentials configured in Settings
- enough local access for Fabriqa to open files, run commands, and manage workspace tools
What the desktop app gives you
- direct access to the workspace, terminal, and local agent tools
- the full panel layout, including Reader, Git Changes, Timeline, and Usage
- desktop-specific behaviors such as window management and app-level preferences
- keyboard shortcuts that align with your operating system
Recommended setup flow
- Open the desktop app.
- Pick the workspace you want to work in.
- Check that your preferred provider is ready.
- Start a chat or a worktree session depending on how isolated you want the task to be.
