Window Management
Fabriqa Desktop is designed to stay out of your way when you don’t need it and snap back instantly when you do. Every window control is available via keyboard so you never have to reach for the mouse.Global Toggle Hotkey
PressCmd+Shift+Space (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+Space (Windows / Linux) from anywhere on your desktop to show or hide Fabriqa Desktop without switching away from your current app.
- macOS: hides the app entirely (not just the window), preserving all running chats.
- Windows / Linux: minimizes the window when frontmost; restores it when minimized or hidden.
Customize the hotkey
- Open Settings (
Cmd+,) → Appearance tab. - Click the hotkey field and press your preferred key combination.
- The new shortcut is saved and registered immediately — no restart required.
Always-on-Top Pin
Keep Fabriqa Desktop visible above all other windows while you work.- Click the pin icon in the window header, or enable Always on Top in Settings → Appearance.
- The window floats above your editor, browser, or terminal without stealing focus.
- Toggle off to return to normal window stacking.
Zen Mode
Zen mode hides all panels and the sidebar, leaving only the active chat. It removes distractions when you want to focus on a conversation.- Toggle via the sidebar rail (collapse icon at the bottom of the activity bar).
- Zen mode state persists across sessions — if you were in zen mode when you quit, it restores on next launch.
- Panels can still be opened temporarily while in zen mode by using slash commands (e.g.
/terminal).
Full Screen

Quit Confirmation
To prevent accidental exits while a chat is streaming:- Press
Cmd+Qonce — a brief confirmation prompt appears. - Press
Cmd+Qagain within the prompt window to confirm quit.
Open a Workspace
UseCmd+O to open the OS native folder picker and switch to a different workspace at any time. Fabriqa restores the last open workspace on relaunch.
