The provider picker in the chat input toolbar is where you decide how the current chat should run.

What you can do there

  • switch between agent providers and LLM providers
  • choose a model when the provider supports model selection
  • apply a preset instead of choosing everything manually
  • jump into provider setup if the one you need is not ready

Agent-specific controls

With some agent providers, Fabriqa can expose extra controls such as:
  • session modes
  • model selection
  • provider-specific configuration options
  • available slash-style agent commands
These controls appear only when the active provider supports them.

Preset-first workflow

If you use the same provider and model combinations often, save them as presets. Then you can switch with one click instead of rebuilding the configuration every time. See Presets.

If the provider looks wrong for this chat

Switch it before you send the next prompt. If you switch providers inside the same chat, Fabriqa updates the usage and context display to match the new provider once fresh data arrives.
