# Worktree sessions

> Run isolated implementation work in a linked worktree without disturbing your main workspace state.

Worktree sessions let you keep one repository but split active work into isolated branches and folders.

## When to use a worktree session

* you want a clean branch for a feature or experiment
* you are running multiple efforts in parallel
* you do not want one task to disturb another task's local state

## Start one

Use **New Chat in Worktree** when creating the chat.

Start there when you already know the task deserves isolation. If you are not sure yet, begin in the main session and move to a worktree session when the task becomes implementation-heavy.

## What fabriqa does for you

In a configured workspace, fabriqa can help prepare the worktree so it is more immediately usable for the task you are starting.

## What to review while you work

Use the surrounding workspace tools as you go:

* **Git Changes** to confirm the isolated diff looks right
* **Reader** to inspect files without leaving the workspace flow
* **Terminal** to run the branch-specific commands you need

## Completion flows

Once work is ready, your next action may be to:

* merge back
* create a PR-style handoff
* keep the worktree open for more work

## Missing worktree warning

If a linked worktree folder disappears, fabriqa can block that chat and point you toward cleanup instead of pretending the folder still exists.
